On 26 December 2023, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Land Space Planning in Guangdong Province (2021-2035)” (“the Plan”). The Plan proposed to create a high-level scientific and technological innovation carrier, support colleges and universities of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao to jointly establish universities, construct a world-class major scientific and technological infrastructure cluster and build up a major original innovations base in Guangdong Province.
