On 15 April 2024, the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau issued the “Implementation Plan for the Collaborative Technical Research and Development of the Guangzhou Industrial Chain Innovation Consortium in 2025” (“the Plan”). The Plan specified to focus on the technological innovation directions of relevant industry at the national, Guangdong provincial, and Guangzhou municipal levels in the past 3 years. The Plan proposed to follow the industrial development needs of Guangzhou Municiplity, launch key common technology research projects that have an impact on the secure development of the industrial chain, as well as innovative technology research projects that can achieve breakthrough development. The Plan supports universities in Hong Kong and Macau approved by the Mainland and Hong Kong/Macau Science and Technology Cooperation Committees take the lead as project coordinator. The implementation period for the projects is from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
