The Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission (“the Commission”) issued the “Guiding Opinions on Developing Joint Ownership Housing Based on Local Conditions” (“the Guiding Opinions”) on 17 July 2020. The Commission announced that urban families without housing who fulfill the local requirements will be provided joint ownership housing. Eligible talents and Hong Kong and Macao residents working and living in Guangdong Province also fall within the scope for joint ownership housing. The Guiding Opinions will be efffective from 1 September 2020 and is valid for 5 years.
