On 28 September 2023, the Office of the Guangzhou Nansha District Administrative Committee and the Office of the People's Government of Guangzhou Nansha District issued the “Support Measures for Promoting High-quality Development of Shipping and Logistics Industry in Guangzhou Nansha New District (Free Trade Zone) (“the Zone”) (“the Measures”). The Measures specified that shipping companies which operate Hong Kong-Macao shipping lines by commercial automobile barges via Nansha automobile port will be given an award up to RMB50,000 for each line. For shipping companies engaging in cross-border passenger waterway routes, a reward of RMB6,000 per route shall be given to direct entry and exit between Nansha New District and Hong Kong or Macau. The Measures will be implemented from 28 September 2023 and be valid until 31 December 2025.
