The Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the Department of Finance of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Provincial Administration for Market Regulation (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the “Administrative Measures for Fees of Private Compulsory Education in the Guangdong Province”” (“the Notice”) on 28 October 2023. The authorities announced that these measures are formulated to enhance the development of private compulsory education, standardize the fees for compulsory education in the Guangdong Province, and protect the legal rights and interests of schools and students. Students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan studying in the Mainland China shall be subject to the same fee policy as the Mainland China students. These Measures shall be effective from 1 December 2023 and valid for 5 years.
