The People’s Government of the Shenzhen Municipality (“the authorities”) issued the “Notice in relation to the Administrative Measures for Children of Non-Shenzhen Residents Receiving Compulsory Education” (“the Notice”) on 27 February 2024. The authorities announced that children of non-Shenzhen residents, participating in compulsory education in Shenzhen Municipality, shall be admitted based on proximity and points-based admission regulations and exempted from attending the admission examination. Eligible children of non-Shenzhen residents shall be admitted through the education administrative departments of each district according to the compulsory education points-based admission policy and annual enrolment program, based on accumulated points arranging in descending order. These Measures shall be effective from 15 March 2024 and valid for 5 years.
