The People's Government of Dongguan Municipality implemented the "Measures on Social Medical Insurance in Dongguan" on 1 October 2018 and will be valid for 5 years. Eligible non-Dongguan resident college students and children of non-Dongguan resident participants of Dongguan Municipality Basic Medical Insurance (who have paid the full amount of insurance for more than one year) that are attending the Dongguan compulsory education and high school may participate in the basic medical insurance scheme.
